About Our Founder

A Holistic Advocate for Wellness & Precision Care

Kennedy Ta’Nae is an African American  entrepreneur, herbalist, and community health advocate whose work is deeply rooted in holistic living and cultural empowerment. Born on February 18th on a military base in California, Ta’Nae’s early experiences navigating the complexities of military family life, maternal health challenges, parental divorce and systemic gaps in care profoundly shaped her mission. Her dedication centers on uplifting women and children and historically marginalized communities by fostering life satisfaction, health equity, and sustainable social support systems.

Ta’Nae’s continuous academic journey reflects her resilience and commitment. Beginning dual enrollment in community college during high school, she earned associate degrees before transferring to the University. Despite severe setbacks from motor vehicle accidents, which resulted in long-term injuries and posed financial and academic hurdles, she persevered—continuing her education, legal battles, and professional growth.

From 2019, Ta’Nae independently explored critical themes like epigenetics, social determinants of health, and intergenerational wellness—fields now gaining widespread attention. These early insights evolved into a formal research and service framework by 2021, culminating in the founding of The Umber Foundation.

Umber has since developed into a vibrant, research-driven initiative. Working on advancing accessible housing, peer-led wellness education, and Afro and Female-centric social services; All grounded in culturally resonant, sustainable models.

Today, Ta’Nae's work is driven by a singular vision: to cultivate dignified, culturally rooted systems that support health, economic stability, and overall well-being for all communities. Striving to make sure those often excluded from conventional wellness and housing opportunities have a chance to learn valuable life and career skills. Currently, Ta'Nae balances her graduate studies, being a traveling provider and expanding The Umber Foundation.
